Hi, I’m Carlo Corti, a software craftsman who’s currently figuring out the Staff Engineer role at lastminute.com.

I’ve created software during my career in Java, Kotlin, Javascript, Python, TypeScript, and explored quite a few other languages. Although I have used several of them, I don’t mind when frameworks are used as enablers, but I’m always cautious/pragmatic when doing so.

Because I always like a short feedback loop when working, extreme programming (XP) and test-driven development (TDD) are extremely important to me.

I’m a lifelong learner who is constantly looking for new knowledge and practices to hone my profession. Being a software developer is a long-term learning experience rather than just a job.

Software is a tool for delivering value to people. Don’t get lost in it. Focus on creating value and enjoy the journey.

When I’m not working, I really enjoy reading, being outside, hiking, and obviously doing all of these with my corgi.
